Ingredients

1.5 lbs beef bavette steak

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp soy sauce

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 tsp kosher salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tsp balsamic vinegar (optional)

1 tsp fresh rosemary (optional)

Instructions

1. Pat steak dry with paper towels. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic.

2. Heat cast iron pan or grill over high heat.

3. Add olive oil and sear steak 3–4 minutes per side.

4. Optional: Add soy sauce and rosemary during sear.

5. Rest steak for 5–10 minutes.

6. Slice thinly against the grain. Serve hot.

Notes

For added flavor, marinate the steak for 30–60 minutes before cooking.

Perfect with chimichurri, roasted potatoes, or a crisp arugula salad.
