Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined and shape into meatballs.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides.
  4. Add marinara sauce to the skillet and let simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Place hoagie rolls on a baking sheet. Spoon meatballs and sauce into each roll, then top with mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or oven. For freezing, wrap tightly and store in a freezer bag for up to 2 months.
