- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined and shape into meatballs.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides.
- Add marinara sauce to the skillet and let simmer for 10 minutes.
- Place hoagie rolls on a baking sheet. Spoon meatballs and sauce into each roll, then top with mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve warm.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or oven. For freezing, wrap tightly and store in a freezer bag for up to 2 months.
