- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Optional toppings: fruit preserves or fresh fruit
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into squares.
- In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Place a small amount of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
- Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling and pinch to seal.
- Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a golden color.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly and serve with optional toppings.
Notes
These danishes can be customized with chocolate chips or spices for more flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days or freeze for longer storage.
