- 4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Salt to taste
- Butter for frying
Instructions
- Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, then drain and mash them.
- Allow the mashed potatoes to cool slightly, then mix in the flour, baking powder, and salt until a dough forms.
- Divide the dough into 2 or 4 portions and shape each into a flat round.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt some butter.
- Fry the potato rounds for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
- Serve warm with eggs, bacon, or a dollop of butter.
Notes
Store any leftover potato farls in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat in a skillet or microwave, or fry lightly again for a crispy texture.
