- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 2 cups cooked macaroni
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup additional cheese for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and shape into a loaf.
- In a separate bowl, mix cooked macaroni, milk, and shredded cheese.
- Spread half of the macaroni mixture in the bottom of a greased casserole dish.
- Place the meatloaf on top of the macaroni, then layer the remaining macaroni mixture over the meatloaf.
- If desired, sprinkle additional cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes, or until the meatloaf is cooked through and the top is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Use day-old cooked macaroni to ensure it holds up during baking. Don’t overmix the meat to keep it juicy.
