  • Total Time: 65 minutes

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups cooked macaroni
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup additional cheese for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and shape into a loaf.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix cooked macaroni, milk, and shredded cheese.
  4. Spread half of the macaroni mixture in the bottom of a greased casserole dish.
  5. Place the meatloaf on top of the macaroni, then layer the remaining macaroni mixture over the meatloaf.
  6. If desired, sprinkle additional cheese on top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes, or until the meatloaf is cooked through and the top is bubbly and golden.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Use day-old cooked macaroni to ensure it holds up during baking. Don’t overmix the meat to keep it juicy.
