- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons orange juice
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Mix in the softened butter and sour cream until it forms a soft dough.
- Add the egg and orange zest, mixing until just combined.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently until smooth.
- Roll the dough out into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
- Cut the dough into strips and then roll each strip into a spiral.
- Place the rolls on a greased baking sheet.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden brown.
- While the rolls bake, mix the powdered sugar, orange juice, and melted butter in a bowl until smooth.
- Drizzle the warm glaze over the rolls after they come out of the oven.
Notes
For added flavor, consider incorporating cinnamon or chocolate chips into the dough. Use store-bought biscuit dough to save time.
