- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup milk, warmed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup raspberry jam
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In another bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, softened butter, and eggs.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, about 10 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the raspberry jam evenly over it, and roll it up tightly.
- Twist the rolled dough into a loaf shape and place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Let it rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool before slicing. Enjoy toasted or as a snack!
Notes
For a sweeter loaf, add a tablespoon of vanilla extract. You can also experiment with using different fruit jams or adding nuts.
