- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)
- Hershey’s Kisses (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder.
- In a separate bowl, combine vegetable oil, sugar, and egg; mix well.
- Add vanilla extract and red food coloring to the wet mixture.
- Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls, then roll in powdered sugar.
- Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set.
- Immediately after removing from the oven, press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie.
- Allow to cool before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, try adding white chocolate chips or chopped nuts to the dough. You can also refrigerate the dough for up to 24 hours before baking.
