- 1 box cake mix (any flavor)
- Ingredients needed to make the cake (as per cake box instructions)
- 1 cup frosting (store-bought or homemade)
- Candy melts or white chocolate
- Lollipop sticks
- Sprinkles for decoration
- Mini chocolate chips or candies for eyes and buttons
- Orange candy or fondant for the noses
Instructions
- Bake the cake according to the box instructions. Allow it to cool completely.
- Crumble the cooled cake into a large bowl.
- Add frosting to the crumbled cake and mix until combined. The mixture should be moist but not too wet.
- Roll the mixture into balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Make some balls bigger for the bottom and smaller for the head.
- Insert a lollipop stick into each ball.
- Melt the candy melts or white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl.
- Dip each cake pop into the melted candy, coating it completely. Tap off the excess.
- Place the cake pops upright in a styrofoam block or a tall cup to let the coating set.
- Once set, use sprinkles and mini chocolate chips to create eyes, buttons, and a mouth.
- Add a small piece of orange candy or fondant for the nose.
- Let the decorations dry completely before serving.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Freeze before coating for longer storage.
