  • 8 oz Cream Cheese (softened, goat cheese can be used)
  • 1 cup Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese (mozzarella can be used)
  • 2 medium Sliced Jalapenos (fresh or pickled)
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder (or use fresh minced garlic for more flavor)
  • 1 large Egg (for egg wash, or use milk for vegan option)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment.
  2. Thaw the puff pastry if frozen and roll it into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  3. In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, sliced jalapenos, and garlic powder until smooth.
  4. Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the pastry, leaving a small border at the edges.
  5. Fold the pastry over or place another sheet on top, then press lightly to seal.
  6. Cut the filled pastry into strips about 1 inch wide.
  7. Twist each strip several times and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Beat the egg and brush each twist with the egg wash (use milk if preferred).
  9. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until the twists are puffed and golden brown.
  10. Let cool a few minutes before serving.

Notes
