- 1 package Puff Pastry (or pizza dough for a heartier option)
- 8 oz Cream Cheese (softened, goat cheese can be used)
- 1 cup Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese (mozzarella can be used)
- 2 medium Sliced Jalapenos (fresh or pickled)
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder (or use fresh minced garlic for more flavor)
- 1 large Egg (for egg wash, or use milk for vegan option)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment.
- Thaw the puff pastry if frozen and roll it into a rectangle on a floured surface.
- In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, sliced jalapenos, and garlic powder until smooth.
- Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the pastry, leaving a small border at the edges.
- Fold the pastry over or place another sheet on top, then press lightly to seal.
- Cut the filled pastry into strips about 1 inch wide.
- Twist each strip several times and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Beat the egg and brush each twist with the egg wash (use milk if preferred).
- Bake for 12–15 minutes or until the twists are puffed and golden brown.
- Let cool a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with ranch, blue cheese, or salsa. They can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
