- 1 box of chocolate cake mix
- 1 cup of water
- 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup of fresh strawberries, chopped
- 8 oz of cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup of powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup of shredded coconut
- 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts (optional)
- Whipped cream for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs until well combined.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish.
- In another bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth.
- Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the batter in the baking dish, then sprinkle the chopped strawberries, coconut, and nuts over the top.
- Pour the remaining cake batter on top.
- Use a knife to gently swirl the cream cheese mixture into the batter.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before serving. Top with whipped cream if desired.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. Refrigerate for up to a week or freeze for up to two months.
