This sweet potato souffle casserole is a warm, comforting, and delicious holiday side made with creamy mashed sweet potatoes, warm spices, and a golden marshmallow or pecan topping.

Ingredients

4 cups mashed sweet potatoes

2 eggs

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup melted butter

1/2 cup milk

1 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp salt

1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows or pecan topping

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13 baking dish.

2. Peel, cook, and mash sweet potatoes until smooth.

3. In a large bowl, mix sweet potatoes, eggs, sugar, butter, milk, vanilla, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

4. Pour mixture into prepared baking dish.

5. Top with marshmallows or pecan crumble.

6. Bake for 25–30 minutes until top is golden and bubbling.

7. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

To make ahead: prepare the mixture and refrigerate without topping. Add topping and bake when ready.

For pecan topping: mix 1/2 cup chopped pecans, 1/3 cup brown sugar, 2 tbsp butter, and 1 tbsp flour.
