  • Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins
  • Yield: 16 rolls 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup warm whole milk

2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast

1/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup melted unsalted butter

1 egg

1 tsp salt

3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

1. Warm milk and dissolve sugar. Sprinkle yeast and let it foam for 5–10 minutes.

2. Add egg, melted butter, and salt to the mixture.

3. Gradually add flour and mix until a soft dough forms.

4. Knead for 5–7 minutes, then place in greased bowl. Cover and let rise 1 hour.

5. Roll dough 1/2 inch thick. Cut into squares. Arrange on greased baking sheet.

6. Let rise again for 30–40 minutes.

7. Bake at 350°F for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.

8. Brush with butter immediately after baking.
