- 6 egg yolks
- 3/5 cup granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup strong brewed coffee (cooled)
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 24 ladyfingers
- Cocoa powder for dusting
- Dark chocolate shavings (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until light and creamy.
- Slowly add the cooled coffee and mascarpone cheese, mixing until smooth.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream to soft peaks and gently fold it into the mascarpone mixture.
- Dip the ladyfingers briefly in the coffee and layer them in a dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- Repeat the layers and finish with the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 240 minutes or overnight.
- Before serving, dust with cocoa powder and sprinkle with chocolate shavings if desired.
Notes
For a unique taste, you can add a splash of coffee liqueur or try using flavored coffee.
