Ingredients

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 3/5 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup strong brewed coffee (cooled)
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 24 ladyfingers
  • Cocoa powder for dusting
  • Dark chocolate shavings (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until light and creamy.
  2. Slowly add the cooled coffee and mascarpone cheese, mixing until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream to soft peaks and gently fold it into the mascarpone mixture.
  4. Dip the ladyfingers briefly in the coffee and layer them in a dish.
  5. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  6. Repeat the layers and finish with the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 240 minutes or overnight.
  8. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder and sprinkle with chocolate shavings if desired.

Notes

For a unique taste, you can add a splash of coffee liqueur or try using flavored coffee.
