- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 slices sourdough or white bread
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef.
- Add chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent.
- Season with salt and pepper. Add Worcestershire sauce and beef broth. Simmer until the liquid reduces.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Place two slices of bread, butter side down, on the skillet. Add cheddar, beef mixture, and mozzarella. Top with remaining bread slices, butter side up.
- Grill each side for 3–4 minutes until golden and the cheese melts. Flip carefully.
- Slice and serve warm. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
For a crispier sandwich, avoid the microwave during reheating. You can also add sliced tomatoes or pickles for extra tang.
